Don’t Put Up With Knee Pain | Milpitas and San Jose Chiropractor
A recent study indicates that chiropractic care can assist patients with osteoarthritis of the knees.
The study, published in The Journal of the Canadian Chiropractic Association in 2008, involved 43 participants ages 47 to 70 years who were randomly allocated to an intervention group or a control group.
Participants received three treatments per week for two consecutive weeks. Afterward, the intervention group reported a significant decrease in pain and fewer clicking and grinding sensations compared with the control group. In addition, the intervention group said the intervention had helped them, decreased their symptoms, and enhanced their mobility.
Most people think of chiropractors when their back hurts, or they have an aching neck. But both anecdotal evidence and research studies indicate that chiropractic adjustments can alleviate other problems as well, ranging from improvements in circulation to relief of allergy symptoms, acid reflux, and urinary tract or menstrual issues.
A patient suffering from knee pain should have a variety of anatomical components examined, in addition to the knee. That’s because pain can be referred from other structures, including the low back, pelvis hip, ankle and foot. In addition, if other joints in the lower limb are not working correctly, they can increase the stress on the knee joint, resulting in injury over time.
